For the avid international traveler, the phrase “go big or go home” applies perfectly to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. The largest city as well as the most populous in the UAE, Dubai sits along the Persian Gulf with a skyline of brilliant skyscrapers. Always with a journey to share -- her own or one on the bucket list -- traveler and writer Kathy Petrino suggests Dubai for someone wanting a larger than life experience in his or her international adventures. Whether it’s seeing the world’s largest theme park or world’s tallest building or the world’s first rotating skyscraper, coming in 2020, Dubai is known for its grandeur beyond words. Kathy Petrino notes that it will cost a pretty penny for these travels -- from shopping to beaches and more -- but every penny will be well worth it in this luxurious city.

Kathy Petrino works hard in her role as a travel blogger, which means a great many readers get lots of insight on every travel destination she goes to. Because of that, she feels they are more likely to experience a better trip than they would otherwise. Kathy wants everyone to visit the same places she does because the more tourists there are, the more likely travel will be lucrative, which is better for everyone. She wants to see that everyone has a great time and avoids some of the difficulties she experiences on some trips. One reason Kathy Petrino loves traveling is her strong sense of adventure, even when she travels to tourist havens like Las Vegas, Nevada.

Even though it is extremely popular, Las Vegas ranks as one of Kathy Petrino’s favorite places to travel because it is just a whole lot of fun. There is something for everyone in the family to see and do, even if they don’t like to gamble. Of course, the casinos want you to do so, but there are few places in the world more accommodating to everyone than Las Vegas.

What makes Las Vegas especially appealing as a destination is that it is among the least expensive travel destinations anywhere. The amount of inexpensive and outright free entertainment available in Las Vegas is impressive. Start with the free circus acts on display at Circus Circus, of course, but it is also possible to see the Eiffel Tower at one hotel and the canals of Venus at another. There are also death-defying amusement park rides that seem to stop in mid-air around the Stratosphere tower, there is a miniature version of the Manhattan skyline with a roller coaster running through it, and a large castle appears next door to a giant pyramid. What Kathy Petrino wants you to know is, if you think this stuff looks cool from the sidewalk, there are several helicopter tours of the city available, so you can see it all from the sky, to make the entire trip even more impressive.

There are many reasons Kathy Petrino loves to write about her extensive travel itinerary, but none are more important than her desire to teach people how to have the best visits possible to her favorite haunts, thus making them thrive, so she can visit again and again. Of course, Kathy also would like for those who read her blog to make fewer of the missteps she has made on the same trips because she’s generous. One of Kathy Petrino’s favorite destinations is Florida’s Emerald Coast.

The Emerald Coast is located on the state’s northern Gulf Coast. For many years, the region was called the “Redneck Riviera,” although that name has fallen by the wayside in recent years, as celebrities and “beautiful people” have transformed the motley assortment of beach towns and resorts by encouraging a revitalization. Now that is it referred to as the “Emerald Coast” of Florida, many savvy investors have built lots of new hotels and condo buildings, including the region’s first-ever five-star resort, called Henderson Beach Resort. During this boom, the town of Seasidehas become one of the most beautiful and eco-friendly towns in Florida.

It is well-documented that Kathy Petrino is a very happy and prolific traveler who wishes to see as much as she can while she’s still on this planet. And we all benefit greatly from her experience because Kathy loves to write about all of her travels. She apparently has a strong desire to share everything she experiences, so that others can experience what she has. See, it’s good to enjoy your travels, but it’s better to tell others about them, so that the destination thrives to the point that you can visit again.

While Kathy Petrino thinks of herself as something of an explorer who treats every destination as a new discovery, she has many favorite destinations. One of her favorites just happens to be Southern California’s Coachella Valley, which is located smack dab in the middle of California’s Low Desert. And whereas it’s not as popular as it once was back in the 1950s and 1960s, when the Rat Pack ruled the roost, there is still a lot to recommend about the place, not the least of which is the nostalgic vibe that transforms visitors to a simpler time, back when Frank and Dean and Sammy ruled Palm Springs, which is at the center of the region and the main town in the Coachella Valley.

The area features many fully-restored hotels and rental homes that will take you back to the post-War 20th Century. There are also numerous festivals to celebrate the old days, and there are many vintage stores to help you feel like you fit in. Of course, there is also the Coachella Music Festival, one of the best festivals in the country. This area is a veritable paradise for hikers and rock climbers, especially when they decide to head up into the hills via the Palm Springs Aerial Tram. They also can find a lot to see and do amid the lunar landscapes of Joshua Tree National Park, which is very close by, as well as Salvation Mountain.
